I’m Georgie & welcome to my passion projects
Born and raised in the UK to Hong Kong immigrant parents, I fought with them tirelessly to wind up studying Jewellery Design at Edinburgh College of Art. Graduating back in 2012, hungry to climb the commercial career ladder and a thirst to learn, I slowly but surely finally worked my way to a Senior Jewellery Designer position in a coveted fashion accessories brand.
I still love designing jewellery, as it has a certain sentimentality to the product that I feel affinity for. However through 8 years in the ever fluctuating fashion/retail industry, not without its hardships and struggles.
I just wanted more… I just needed another creative outlet.
In 2020, a knee jerk instinctive reaction from being exhausted by the fast-paced fashion cycles (potentially also a bit of a quarter life crisis). I realised I had lost a lot of love for design, arts and my craft through the non stop pace of London ‘millennial burnout’.
Lo and behold chop_stick_n_poke was born.
It’s a mixed bag of fun and playful ‘flash tattoo’ style illustrations, colourful nods to asian diaspora and light-hearted interpretations of everyday life.
